Sociability A business you can't call, puts you through ceaseless loops of recorded messages or charges outrageous prices to solve problems with its products, is too aloof to qualify as a business. It's become a secret organization which exists to receive contributions to its wealth. Business is exchange, of which communication and reciprocation are of essence. Without relationship there's no point. There are even businesses which distance themselves from the customer from the very start, such as companies which use your phone to interrupt you with a recorded sales pitch. It doesn't come more half-assed than that - but for spam to which one can't reply because its producers are lying thieves - and it's a glaring signal of customer disregard. But give them your money if being treated like an android is your bag. Targeted Marketing Many companies purchase lists of "potential" customers. Lists are not specific enough to constitute targeted marketing: You weigh one hundred pounds. You're on a list. So you receive advertising about weight loss plans. The only people who aren't on those lists are Amazonian cannibals, though as I speak someone is probably steaming up the river to see how many would like to purchase a very expensive credit card service that is betting on the eventual insolvency of the entire tribe, which benevolent wish of ineluctable indebtedness is the spirit of world finance (who owns who). Yeah, you bet, the stranger who arrives out of the blue who wants to be your friend. If you aren't already actively seeking a certain product or service then advertising is untimely. When you make an untimely purchase you do not save money – you spend it. Nor do you get a good deal. You only trade what is at the moment needful (money) for what is at the moment frivolous. Earth The U.S. Postal Service can't keep pace with the burden of high volume. So it raises the price of sending legitimate mail but continues to give discounts to junk mailers, who not only send the most mail, but only annoy postal customers who trash nigh all of it without reading it. Maybe I'm missing something here but the solution looks clear to even me. Untargeted mail solicitation is great for lumber companies. But it's an enormous waste of Earth's bounty, no longer a cornucopia. For that matter, a great waste of water can be prevented by pissing elsewhere than the toilet. What? It's like a mountain? It's done because it's there?
